Help a Nerd Out! Â “Beth, what are the best apps for shopping – either to make my holiday gift list or to save money?”
Chime in, friends.
Mary S: Not an app, but any kind of connection with your local independent retailer will do more for you and your community than any shopping online!
Mary C:Â RetailMeNot. It is especially nice to be able to pull up a coupon when you leave your paper ones at home!Â
Sarah P:Â I love the Amazon app. I let my son make his wish list to share with others, then I make a wish list of products on Amazon that I am going to buy for others, but I keep it private. Plus, you can open the list every few days and see if anything has dropped in price! I also just downloaded the Black Friday app, and it is really easy to view the items and see what each place has on sale! Both are free!
Tria S:Â Retail Me Not app and Groupon are both good, but my newest fav is the Flipp app. Enter your zip and you can see current and upcoming weekly sales circulars. Love it!!
Louise S:Â In Canada – try ebates.ca for cashback rebates on purchases from various retailers – watch for free shipping deals cause that eats into the “cashback”. I like Amazon as well.
Casandra R:Â If you can plan ahead for a lengthy delivery time I like the Wish app (very affordable – but helpful to check reviews on quality of products)
Wonderful ways to put more presents under the tree this year.  Until next week, nerds!
Also not an app, but the website http://www.cashbackmonitor.com can tell you if the website you’re about to shop on will earn you a rebate or bonus miles by shopping through its portal.
