Your meeting starts in four minutes. The login instructions are in your Dropbox. Or in Google Drive. Or in an attachment in Gmail. Or just lost in space.
A survey of U.S. office professionals found that more than half said they spend more time searching for documents and files they need than responding to emails and messages.
Working remotely has led to a bigger challenge in document organization. At the office many staffers kept their files in the same place where they were more easily found. But now we’re using different cloud solutions, and it’s easy to lose track of what you put where.
Searchable.ai is one of a number of solutions trying to solve this problem. When you sign up for the service, you link your different cloud storage platforms. So when you search for something, it looks everywhere: Dropbox, Gmail, Outlook, Slack and more.
Search for Answers
Even better than finding the files is getting to the actual answers. You can ask questions such as, “What were the sales numbers from 2021?” and Searchable uses AI to skim documents that will provide the answers.
Free for Now
Searchable.ai is officially in beta right now (I think… it’s a little hard to discern). And they say anyone who gets in on the beta is guaranteed two years of free service.
