As you may remember, I have had it up to HERE with LastPass after they totally botched the communication around their latest breach (and the fact that I have to qualify that it’s their “latest” breach is not a good sign either).
The Best Password Manager Recommendations
To pick a new password manager, I asked my nerdy community (that’s YOU!). Here’s a compilation of your recommendations and why.
Spoiler Alert: I’m switching to 1Password.
- 1Password is consistently in the top five recommended password manager lists, and it’s frequently #1.
- 1Password is all in on a passwordless future with passkeys.
- I have great respect for one of their Board of Advisors: Troy Hunt, the nerd behind the password-checking site called HaveIBeenPwned.
- All these tools are going to do just about the same thing, so it really doesn’t matter a whole lot. I just need to pick one and go.
You Can’t Go Wrong with Any of These Options
If you want a free password manager, Bitwarden (below) is the answer. But other than that, any of these tools are highly rated and passionately recommended.
