Resume and Portfolio Tools: LinkedIn Resume Builder, re.vu and ResumUP

revu_logoI’ve long maintained that LinkedIn is the single most powerful job search tool out there, so it makes sense that it would help you create a resume. The Resume Builder is hidden in the LinkedIn Labs. Simply log in to LinkedIn from the resume site, and your information is instantly transformed into an attractive resume format. Choose your favorite template, then simply download as a PDF.

The site looks pretty abandoned by LinkedIn – looks like it won’t unleash it on the market. But it’s still handy for a quick, professional resume.

If you’re looking for something a little bit snazzier, re.vu is another site that pulls your LinkedIn profile to tell a visual story of your work history, complete with infographics, uploads and all kinds of cool graphics. You can also upload files, including a downloadable resume in a more traditional format. Even if you’re not job searching, it’s a great place to pull together an attractive, professional snapshot of who you are and what you’ve done. ResumUP has some cool features as well. Both of these sites are free (for now).
